The new building rises next to the existent primary school and is located near the Groane Park.
The design guidelines have been flexibility in the use of spaces (in conformity with the indications of the meta-project “Intelligent school” by CISEM – Centre for educational innovation and experimentation – of the Milan Province) and energy efficiency.
The bioclimatic study led to the design of an organic and functional architecture. The envelope, which was developed with a mixed technology – both traditional and dry-assembled – allowed to get high performance both in winter and summer. The transparent closures have been studied in order to favour natural ventilation for classrooms.
